State Highpoints New Jersey - 1,803-foot High Point

New Jersey’s highest peak and the 40th highest US state summit, 1,803-foot High Point is located in Hew Jersey’s northernmost area. With 910 feet of prominence, High Point is the second most prominent peak in New Jersey on the border with New York. This highpoint is a drive up, and a short stroll will take you to the highest ground. The summit is adorned with a large 220-foot tall monument that resembles the Washington Monument. This highpoint is wheelchair accessible.

To get to High Point by car, go to Port Jervis in southern New York on US Highway 84. This town is near the junction on NJ, NY, and PA. Go west on US 84, take Exit 1, and go south on New Jersey 23 for 4.3 miles into High Point State Park. Turn east onto Kuser Road, and stop at the visitor center to pay any required fees. Continue northeast on Kuser Road, pass Lake Marcia, and reach the large parking lot after 1.4 miles from the Visitor Center. The top part of the road is called Monument Drive.

From the parking lot, hike uphill for a short distance to the Summit Mounment. The highest natural ground is on some rocks north of the monument.
